I thought danah was really great, although I'd been looking forward to hearing her speak since RB said in his Webstock presentation that she would be in town (I tackled him at Webstock and gushed about how excited I was that danah was going to be speaking and he replied, "Really, you're the first person to say that"). I'd stumbled across her blog around the start of the year - there's lots of interesting stuff there.

I was particularly interested in her comments on Saturday about teenage life in the US and the state of "lockdown", particularly in the context of the last two books I've read - "The Culture of Fear: Why Americans Are Afraid of the Wrong Things" by Barry Glassner and "How the Left Lost Teen Spirit" by Danny Goldberg. Interesting to get a handle on the differences with regard to mobile device use.

My only real criticism would be that she spoke really fast, perhaps too fast for some people to follow.

Maybe it's different horses for different courses - I was definitely there to hear danah talk about MySpace, but I doubt that everybody else was.

So, I'm a geek. Shoot me!

Golly, considering I started playing with RSS before most other people had even learned how to spell it (I guess some time in 2000), I guess I should have published feeds sooner. I've added some popular ones to the sidebar. If you'd like a different format, let me know.
